From Botanical to Plein Air Fine Art
What inspires me to draw are nature's design patterns and the intricacies of her creations. I work to re-present, for example, the design of a single pomegranate — California's glorious winter fruit...or of a stand of birches — a multiplicity of the design of a single birch. Every fruit, flower, vegetable, tree trunk, and leaf is a marvel of design and seasonal transition. Add light to textures and colors and the marvels multiply. I draw in “Plein Air”, not from photographs, to keep the vitality of the outdoor light.
Gicleé for Fine Art Nature Prints
In addition to my originals, I have limited edition gicleé prints with the exceptional vibrancy and detail that this method affords. I sell the prints with or without matting, signed, numbered and with print certificate. Through experience I've determined various excellent mat color combinations for each piece.
